ABOUT
“Five years ago Jack Silberrad hung up his suit and put on his boots to become a beefarmer.
It's what his grandfather did, keeping bees in the Seychelles, Zambia, and Shropshire Hills...”
Bee & Bird bring great British products of the bee hive to artisanal food producers, delis and real food enthusiasts. From runny honey to cut comb and pure refined beeswax, Jack combines age old tradition with stewardship of our natural world. With our ethos “Real, Seasonal, Delicious” Jack captures the changing seasons in Cambridgeshire by carefully timing honey harvests, producing honey with exceptional character.
With experience managing hundreds of colonies in environments as diverse as heather moors, London rooftops, and Mānuka hills in New Zealand, over several years we have built trust in our customers through regular supply and the highest quality produce. Some of our partners including Michelin-starred chefs, London Universities, schools, private individuals, and corporate entities in Cambridge now enjoy and use honey from their own colonies, whilst fulfilling environmentalism under expert hive care from Bee & Bird.
Stewardship is not just a buzz word; we also consult on and work hard to ensure Cambridgeshire’s feral bee colonies are rehomed. With experience in diverse beekeeping environments why not take your buzz for honey further and join us for a beekeeping experience or tuition?
